I Don’t Force My Songs – Tems Speaks Up

Temilade Openiyi, a Nigerian songstress known as Tems, has stated that she does not actively seek to create songs that empower listeners. The 26-year-old rose to prominence after working on the song “Essence” with Wizkid.

She stated that she does not actively seek to create songs that empower listeners.

Tems stated this in episode two of her Leading Vibe Radio podcast on Apple Radio.

“No. I don’t believe it because you don’t believe it. Art is not something that is created by thinking; rather, it is created by doing. “All you have to do is open your mouth and sing,” she explained.

Continuing, the 26-year-old singer, who rose to prominence after collaborating with Wizkid on the song “Essence,” said, “Art is an extension of you.” No one can appreciate your art because no one understands you. Nobody can receive what you’re attempting to send.

And all you’re really trying to convey is the truth as seen through your eyes. Nobody can see how you see life the way you see life. So why be concerned about whether they’ll see it from your point of view? If you don’t want to, you don’t have to; I’ll be fine either way. “I’m still here.”

“I would never regret anything I released because I know that it came from my soul and that’s what’s important,” the “Crazy” singer added. “Every single song was written from a genuine place.”
